Values Conflict at the End of Life
Not a subject we all like to discuss but it is the best
discussion families can have!
Being a Geriatric Care Manager I have seen too many times in
the middle of a crisis having to start this discussion and it would be so much
better if the conversations had started before they were needed.
Might just print out this article and share it with a loved
one and let them know how you feel about it and what you would want to do
if..... Starting the conversation with
"you" as the subject will give you insight to how a person feels
discussing end of life issues; then it will make you more comfortable asking
...what would you want?
Family members often make end-of-life decisions according to their own values, not the patient's, a new study finds.

Share what happens when you tried to have the family discussion.....
