Fun thing to do in Houston - kayaking and canoeing

I decided to mix it up a little and share with you a great group I met today - Houston Canoe Club.
A wonderful group of folks that like to take trips in kayaks and canoes in bayous, bays and lakes.
Some like to fish, others like adventure and some just like riding the water and sightseeing.

At tonight's meet we met Bill, president and owner of Yak-Gear who brought the cadillac of kayaks that was outfitted like crazy.  Had LED lights built onto the side, with fish attracting green lights too!  Fishing pole holders, achor adjustment system on the side, and outriggers that allow you to stand up in the kayak and fly fish (never would have thought!).

So if you want to ride the Bayous in Houston and meet some really nice people, I recommend you get involved with the Houston Canoe Club.  They meet the second Wednesday at 7pm at the Bayland Community Center.  Hopefully, I will be joining this group on a kayak trip real soon.

How does this fit in the theme of my blog....well it is a resource, seniors can do it and it is just plain fun.
